Job Title: Digital Operations Manager
Role context:
The Digital Operations Manager:
- Primary manager of services for accounts in day-to-day activities
- Supports the Digital Operations leadership team to ensure all team services, knowledge and capabilities meet client Wavemaker Worldwide needs and is a key escalation point for all stakeholders
- Provides understanding of all operational processes and tools utilised to fulfil client services
- Implements the team strategy, launches new business, team training & performance reviews
The Digital Operations Manager's role is to:
- Manages key accounts and is a point of escalation, leadership and knowledge to all clients
- Evolves skills, services and capabilities of the team, ensuring best in class services for clients
- Acts as coach & mentor for team members ensuring team culture & a high feedback cycle
- Drives an agile working methodology and continual evolution of team strategy and services
- What is happening both internally and externally that gives this role more clarity and purpose?
- Crucial in the smooth running of BAU services & new projects for the WM WW accounts
- Ensures flexible, expert, best in class operational services and leadership to enable continued development and success of the team and the wider organisation.
Core responsibilities:
Client Services
- Lead the team in implementing & managing digital ad campaigns for clients and stakeholders
- Maintain a flexible, best in class, set of customer services, workflows and tools for all accounts
- Ensure services are reviewed and enabled to meet and exceed the requirements of client
- Understand client businesses, their KPIs, markets and the relevant implementation requirements
- Review and improve team capabilities, based on client requirements, via training programmes
Specialist Knowledge
- Lead partnerships with stakeholders & vendors to deliver new technologies and services for clients
- Lead specialist tools & services, including: tagging / tracking technologies, web analytics, etc
- Key escalation point and champion of team services for all stakeholders throughout the business
Account Management
- Proactive point of escalation, advice and support for all account team members and peers
- Provide constructive and professional feedback upon request/as required
- Support a superb working experience & culture for the team
People Management
- Manage, coach and mentor and all Executives in the team to ensure they fulfil their potential
- Lead & maintain a system of performance review, feedback & training for all team members
- Lead & inspire a high performing, customer service centric team culture, including supporting a strong work-life balance and recognising the successes of team members / peers regularly
New Business & Projects
- Lead relevant projects and product launches as per the team strategy and business needs
- Understand and apply the technologies of Wavemaker and our industry to team services
Required skills / experience:
Background
- Media agency, publisher, data and technology industry or technology vendor
- Team leader and people management in an operations or media environment
- Project management in a technical or media related field
- Passion for digital online operations and relevant technology solutions
Experience
- Experience in digital online / ad operations experience in an agency environment, particularly in ad server and tag management platforms
- Experience in client liaison and account management
- Proven ability to lead a team of Digital / Ad Operations professionals
- Investigation, documentation and resolution of technical issues
- Structured quality assurance implementation & testing processes for campaigns
- Ability to produce tracking & conversion strategies to meet and exceed client goals
- Knowledge of digital advertising, commercial relationships, cost structures & technologies
- Excellent Excel skills - familiarity with the basics of data manipulation and reporting
- Essential: Knowledge of ad servers (advertiser side). Experience working in platform in CM360, Google and DV360 (FlashTalking, Sizmek and Adform are a plus).
- Knowledge of site tag implementation via Tag Management Systems (primarily Google Tag Manager)
- Delivery of complex technical implementations using a multitude of platforms
- Troubleshooting and debugging of online ad campaign issues
- Quality Assurance testing of tags on client sites
- Organised & able to prioritise workload in a multi-tasking environment
- An understanding of the industry landscape
- Existing understanding of JavaScript, HTML and CSS would be a bonus
Relevant Qualifications (essential)
- Google Campaign Manager, Sizmek, FlashTalking, Adform or any other relevant ad serving certification
Relevant Qualifications (desired, not required)
- Google Analytics and / or Adobe Analytics certifications
- Tag management system certifications, particularly Google Tag Manager
- Relevant JavaScript, HTML or other such related qualifications
